See it in 3D

A 3D cake that builds itself as customers choose.

Watch the presentation

A 2:03 video; captions under CC. The steps are below too.

  1. A 3D scene on every step

Open the order form (here the Custom Cake Designer from Design it: simple to showpiece). Under Display, add an Animated scene field and label it Cake preview. In its Settings, switch Show on every step to Yes, then Submit.

  2. Start from the Tiered cake

Open Edit scene under the preview, choose Start from, pick Tiered cake, and Save. It has a cake for each size, each in a group (group:s8 to group:s100), with the tier sides in group:frosting and the decorations in group:border, group:flowers, group:gold, group:candles and group:topper.

  3. Build the cake in the logic

In Form Logic, Write as text, under on update: switch picks the size’s group; scenehide("Cake preview", "group:cake") hides every cake and sceneshow shows that one. scenecolor paints group:frosting for the frosting chosen. Then scenehide what the design level and the cake type don’t call for. Choose Check, then Apply.

  4. There from the first step

The cake turns on its stand from the first step. Choose Wedding and the rings go on top.

  5. The size sets the tiers

    Serves 100 is four tiers.

  6. The frosting colors it

Chocolate buttercream turns the frosting chocolate.

  7. The design adds the details

A showpiece adds piping, flowers and gold bands; decorated keeps the piping and flowers. The price on every step keeps up too.
